Sophie is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and clinical Art Therapist with an office in the South Bay. She works with young adults, individuals and groups with a variety of approaches and disciplines. Sophie has extensive experience with anxiety, depression, fertility issues, adjustment issues, women’s issues, eating disorders and trauma.
Sophie utilizes a variety of approaches and disciplines and believes that her experience with long-term therapy and short-term behavioral interventions allows for a flexible and customized therapeutic relationship that will appeal to any client.
Her professional experience as a primary psychotherapist has been obtained in a residential eating disorder facility as well as several outpatient mental health agencies. Sophie continually seeks advanced training to enhance her therapeutic skills and is working towards the Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) certification and has completed the level one training.
Sophie graduated from Loyola Marymount University, with a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy. She became a registered art therapist in 2008 and completed an advanced clinical training certification in eating disorders in 2010.
Sophie’s approach is relational and she strives to foster a caring, compassionate and non-judgmental therapeutic environment, where her clients feel safe, supported and free to share their thoughts and feelings.
